Shaylene King
Founder & President

Shaylene King is the founder and president of The Mean Girl Extinction Project. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from California Baptist University. An independent contractor with the non-profit organization Community Matters, she trains students and adults the nation’s leading student-led bully prevention program, Safe School Ambassadors. Shaylene speaks to thousands of students each year across the country and internationally leading assemblies, workshops and keynotes. Her work with girl bullying offers acute perspective into girl world; helping girls to not only survive girl world, but to thrive in girl world.

Mckenna Stoddart
Vice President

Mckenna is a graduate of Biola University, where she studied sociology and fell in love with mental health. She worked as a Residential Advisor where she discovered her passion for championing the women alongside her to be their most authentically healthy selves. 

Mckenna had the opportunity to teach middle schoolers while briefly living in Italy, where her heart found a soft spot for middle and high school young women. She now works for Golden Goose Consulting as a certified Life Coach, journeying with and empowering others.  

Mckenna lives in Australia, on the Sunshine coast with her Aussie husband Caleb and their cat, London. While her family live in Tennessee, she explores this season of cross-cultural living.  She loves enjoying all the adventures, beauty and coffee that their little beach town has to offer.

Rhonda Staton
Advocate & Grants

Rhonda Staton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master’s Degree in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley.  She has decades of hands-on and leadership experience working with and advocating for at-risk and disadvantaged populations such as: current and former foster youth, individuals with brain injuries, adults with mental illness and homeless veterans.  Ms. Staton has volunteered as a sexual assault counselor and has been the responder on various crisis hotlines to include the national suicide hotline, a grief hotline, homeless hotlines and a school tip line. She has either volunteered or been employed in a non-profit setting for over 30 years.  She has experience in grant writing for non-profits securing funds for small events to multi-year contracts with County or other governmental agencies.
