WORKSHOPS
Our workshops (middle school through high school) empower girls to cultivate a community of kindness in their social circles and on their school campus. Our workshops are fun, dynamic and hands on. The first half of the workshop confronts relational aggression, cyber-bullying and the cost of mistreatment. Activities and discussion encourage girls to self-reflect and take responsibility in girl world. The second part of the workshop, girls identify triggers and how to navigate them in a healthy way before they lead to mean girl behavior. The workshop ends with two powerful call to action activities.
Girls will learn to cultivate kindness by:
- Recognizing relational aggression (mean girl behavior) among their peers.
- Understanding what role they play in their friendships and social circles.
- Identifying their individual insecurities which may trigger mean girl behavior.
- Acknowledging cyberbullying, the high cost of mistreatment on social media platforms and the need to use these platforms responsibly.
- Providing tools to manage triggers.
- Participating in small and whole group activities.
- Challenging themselves to honor commitments they make with a Girl Tough pledge.
- Heeding a call to action to practice what they learned in a powerful end-of workshop activity.
- Creating and leading a girl led service project to cultivate kindness on their school campus. (Full day workshop only)
