Educators

Educators & Professionals can play a huge role in abolishing the bully phenomenon. Below is a compilation of materials that we think could help you assist student victims and take steps toward the confrontation of aggressors in a kind and respectful way.

COMMUNITY MATTERS - Community Matters is an anti-bully organization based in Norther California. As the creators of Safe School Ambassadors  one of the top evidence based bystander anti-bully programs in the nation, they believe safe schools are created from the inside out. They harness the power of students influence to change school climate. Check out their website for school assemblies, programs and training.

RETHINK WORDS – This is a new technology created by a teen to alert someone that they are about to send a potentially hurtful text/email etc.  Trials showed that a large percentage of kids chose not to send it after all.  Schools/Districts can request to get the Rethink  Community Edition downloaded for their school.

THE HELPFUL COUNSELOR – Need activities to get the ball rolling on open communication and counseling with your students? The Helpful Counselor has many activities, tips and tricks for you to consider.

A MIGHTY GIRL– A must have resource! A Mighty Girl is the world’s largest collection of books, toys, movies, and music for parents, teachers, and others dedicated to raising smart, confident, and courageous girls and, of course, for girls themselves!

SIT WITH US APP– This app was created by a middle school student who knew one of the hardest times being excluded is at lunch. Not only was it hard to be left out at lunch but the embarrassment of having everyone seeing you eating alone was difficult. As a result, she created an app for students (middle school and up) to use. This app connects students willing to be ambassadors and include those left out with students who don’t want to sit alone.

TEACHERS PAY TEACHERS - TpT is the go-to place for educators to find the resources, knowledge, and inspiration they need to teach at their best. Type in the search box bullying and select the age/grade. Some resources are free while others may cost. Choose the lesson/s you like then you can download them immediately.

DONOR CHOOSE - Teachers all over the U.S. need your help to bring their classroom dreams to life. Choose a project that inspires you and give any amount.

Cyberbully Movie - Great movie! If you want to see what relational aggression looks like, how it can start out small…seem like it’s not a big deal and grow to something very toxic, even life threatening, this movie is a must see. It shows the damage from the side of the person who is doing the bullying, the one who is being targeted and those bystanders who see everything happening but choose to do nothing.

Girl Scouts - Want to make new friends? The Girl Scouts is a great organization to help you develop your strengths and encourage positive communication with other girls.

Words Wound - Are you struggling with bullying? Wish someone could listen and understand? You are not alone! Share your story here. Find others who may have a similar story.

Sit with Us APP - This app was created by a middle school student who knew one of the hardest times being excluded is at lunch. Not only was it hard to be left out at lunch but the embarrassment of having everyone seeing you eating alone was difficult to handle.  As a result, she created an app for students (middle school and up) to use. This app connects students willing to be ambassadors and include those left out with students who don’t want to sit alone. Have you felt this way? Or maybe you have seen it happen to others and want to help. Check this out!

Check back often–we will be continuously updating our selection of resources!

Parents

Parents, this is where you can find valuable information on how to help your child if they have been involved in a bullying situation, whether the victim or the bully.

Since we’re an organization dedicated to make young women feel safe, we feel it necessary to encourage parents to speak to their daughters before taking any course of action. Trust and respect are delicate lines that can do so much harm to relationships when neglected. That being said, your relationship with your child is your own and their safety comes first!
