One of the most important things that we can do as an organization is be a light in the darkness for young women. A practical way to do that is to host fun and enlightening events and speaking engagements for girls to attend.
In October of 2104, TMGEP hosted a screening of the documentary “Finding Kind” at Windsor Middle School in Windsor, California. Over 150 young women and some parents gathered on a Saturday afternoon to watch the movie, eat some snacks, make new friends, and pledge their kindness to one another. We were also honored to have a bullying victim share her story in front of the group: a true act of bravery that inspired many to open up about their own stories. The day as a whole was one of hope, progress, and encouragement for young women, their families, and the TMGEP Staff.
Shaylene King, the organization’s founder and President, speaks at schools and events on the topic of girl bullying across the country.
It is our goal to be wherever we are needed–and in places that don’t think they need us because we know that bullying is everywhere.
